Nationwide keeps delaying our mortgage application

We were told it was quick but it asks us for information in a piecemeal way, and we are in danger of losing the property

We are first-time buyers and decided to get our mortgage through Nationwide having been told by a colleague that it was quick, and great with first-time buyers and self-employed people, as my partner is. On its website it gives a timescale for application to offer. We applied more than a month ago.

Initially its communication seemed excellent, with text messages and emails updating us. However, we are now being asked for further information in a piecemeal fashion. Each time we give the required information Nationwide tells us it will be another week before it is reviewed.
